LetsGetChecked testosterone test: how it compares with a walk-in test
LetsGetChecked sells at-home testosterone kits. You collect a sample at home, post it to a lab and read the result online. A walk-in test works differently: you order online, then have your blood drawn at a lab.
This page sets out how they differ, using LetsGetChecked’s own pages as they stood in October 2026.

What walk-in testing offers
A walk-in test is a blood draw at a lab, ordered online. MedlinePlus says most testosterone tests involve a blood draw in a medical setting, with a sample taken from a vein in your arm by a health care professional, and that this usually takes less than five minutes (MedlinePlus). It also says at-home kits exist, to talk to your provider if you think one is right for you, and to follow your provider’s instructions for collecting and returning the kit.
For the walk-in tests we show, the seller’s page says:
- It is a simple blood draw. No urine sample, swab or physical exam is involved.
- A general line, shared across many of its tests, says fasting is not required. Don’t read that as advice. The Endocrine Society guideline describes a fasting morning sample for diagnosis, so follow your lab order and see our fasting guide.
- Results appear in your online account within one to three business days.
- You pick the test: total only, free only, or both on one order.
Our guide to at-home vs lab testosterone tests goes through the trade-offs, and how walk-in labs work covers the steps.
LetsGetChecked at a glance
As of October 2026, LetsGetChecked’s product page for its Testosterone Test says:
- Price: $89 as a one-time purchase, with free shipping. A “Subscribe and save” option is listed at $62.30, every 3 months, described as 30% off.
- What it measures: “Testosterone.” The page does not say whether that means total or free.
- Sample: a finger prick collected at home and returned with a prepaid shipping label.
- Results: confidential results in your online account within about 2 to 5 days of your sample arriving at the lab.
- Collection timing: collect Monday to Friday, in the morning before breakfast or any food or drink (water is permitted). Collect and return the sample on the same day. Do not collect or return on a Saturday or Sunday.
- Biotin: the page says to wait at least 8 hours after your last dose of biotin (B7) before collecting.
- Support: a clinical team that may call you to explain your results and next steps.
- Labs: the page says its laboratories are CLIA approved and CAP-accredited.
- Eligibility: you must be at least 18.
- Payment: FSA and HSA cards accepted. Insurance is not accepted.
LetsGetChecked also sells Male Hormone Complete, listed at $199 as of October 2026. Its page lists testosterone, calculated free testosterone, free androgen index, prolactin, SHBG, estradiol and cortisol, collected by finger prick and saliva. The page says it is not permitted for use in NY because of state restrictions. That is a wider bundle than the single tests compared on this page. Our hormone panels guide covers the panels we do compare.
When LetsGetChecked suits you better
- You would rather collect your sample at home than travel to a lab.
- You prefer a finger prick to a vein draw.
- You plan to test again and want a subscription. The page lists a repeat option every 3 months.
- You want a clinical team that may call you about your results, as the page describes.
- You want a wider bundle, including cortisol, prolactin and estradiol, in one kit.
When a walk-in total testosterone test suits you better
- You want to know exactly what is measured. A walk-in order names the test, such as total only, free only, or free and total on one order. See free vs total testosterone.
- You want a draw done for you and no kit to post back. A kit has to be collected and returned on a weekday, on the same day.
- You want a stated results window of one to three business days, rather than 2 to 5 days after the lab receives a posted sample.
- You want to start with one test and add others only if you need them.
How accurate is the LetsGetChecked test?
We haven’t tested kits, and we do not cite a study that compares this kit with a vein draw. So this page makes no claim about accuracy for or against it. LetsGetChecked’s page says its labs are CLIA approved and CAP-accredited. Any lab test can be affected by how and when the sample is taken, so follow the directions that come with whichever test you choose.
Price
The price of the walk-in total test is in the box on this page. LetsGetChecked’s price for its Testosterone Test, as of October 2026, is the $89 one-time price above, or $62.30 on its every-3-months subscription.

Timing
Testosterone is usually measured on a morning sample. MedlinePlus says a provider will take the sample in the morning, between 7 and 10, when levels are typically highest. LetsGetChecked asks for a morning sample too. Our guide to the best time to test goes into more detail.
What a result can and can’t tell you
A testosterone test on its own can’t diagnose a condition. MedlinePlus says abnormal results together with symptoms may be a sign of a health problem, and that the meaning depends on the type of test, your age, your symptoms and other results. If you have questions about a result, talk to your clinician.
